Archaeologists primarily use artifacts (or material culture or things that humans used) to help us develop a story about what happened in the past. In fact, the discipline has been used to explore the tombs of ancient Egypt, the early development of Khmer Kingdom, and the rise of agriculture and cities in Mesopotamia.
