5. What actions, if any, would you take if you were Thomas Green?

I would first reflect on the mistakes committed by me in the past. I would respond to
Shannon's email and request for a face-to-face meeting with her. I would acknowledge the
concerns of my boss Frank Davis and should be calm during the meeting and re-express my
commitment towards the company.

I will also assure Shannon that I will look into the concerns raised by Davis and I will make
sure the same in not repeated.

Green should come to the meeting prepared to show what are the accomplishments since his
promotion and also has a chance to show that he still has the same hunger and passion
towards his work.

Since Thomas did not have any experience as a manager, he should seek guidance from other
managers in the company to brush up his managerial skills.

And Thomas should learn to keep his boss informed about his plans and always respond
promptly to any questions asked by his boss. Rather than trying to work in a completely
autonomous manner.

He should try to work under the mentorship of his boss Davis and in a more collaborative
manner and should be more receptive to feedback.

. In addition, it would be better if rather than questioning the authority of his boss publicly

He should demonstrate a more positive attitude towards both his boss and his work.

He should learn to be more familiar with presentations and memos as this is what his clients
as well as his seniors require. In fact, as we can infer that since there is some politics at play
in Thomas’s office, he should try to leverage the good relationship he has with Shannon,
whenever required.
