The electrical engineering curriculum at Iowa State University has equipped
me with the skills necessary to become a well-rounded, critical-thinking, big- picture engineer. The fundamental EE classes set the groundwork and provided me with the essential abilities to excel in higher-level courses. All of my EE classes provided me with tips to become engineering problem-solving by utilizing tools such as MATLAB, LTSpice, KiCad, or Quartus to solve a problem and build circuits on a breadboard. One key aspect to my success has been my classmates, where we arranged meetings to study. For example, Physics was one of the challenging classes I took in the university. My classmates and I arranged meetings in the library to study for both the quizzes and exams, and I noticed an improvement in my performance. Also, collaborating with lab partners to do experiments or projects provided me with the skills needed to work and communicate in a group. These abilities have taught me how to be an influential team member and how to emerge our strengths. Thus, group work has assisted me in succeeding in my academic years. Many resources at Iowa State University provided me with the opportunity to succeed, such as Supplemental Instruction, the library, the TLA, the ETG, and the labs. In labs, my lab skills have improved over time, in which I become familiar with the lab tools and writing a detailed report. Also, I have been assisted by the TAs who are qualified and helpful. Iowa State University allowed me to be a TA in which not only benefits what I study and benefits others of my knowledge which was one of the best experiences I have had; I became a TA for the EE201 course. Finally, I am grateful for all the opportunities and resources that Iowa State University provided to me, especially the career fair in which I interacted with employers multiple times over the years. I gained knowledge of what the industry fields need, how to make a resume, and how to do an interview, which will help me in my career.
