い Adjectives: Positive to Negative

Adjectives modify/describe nouns. For example, in the English sentence, “My ears are big.” big
is the adjective describing my ears. In Japanese most adjectives end in い in the positive, present
tense. To make the adjective negative, the い at the end of the adjective is replaced with くない.

Ex. おおきい big

おおきくない not big

Change the following adjectives from positive to negative, and translate both into English. Use
the first as an example. Use your L6 vocab list to find the meaning of the adjectives. Note:
good (いい) is irregular and changes to よくない when negative.
