The maps give information about Islip town centre at present and the plan for it in
the future.

The most significant difference is that the total structure of the centre will be
changed from vertical to horizontal. The countryside in the North will be disappeared and
the park will be shrunk.

Another noticeable difference is that there will be the appearance of many new
works as Bus station, Shopping centre, Car park, New housing stretching from West to
East, and between it and the shops is road for pedestrains only. In addition, the town
centre in the future will have dual carriageway surrounding it. It seems that they are
trying to encourage people to use public transport as much as possible in town centre,
which is not only very convennient for people going here to shopping but also restricts
traffic jam.

In sum, it can be said that the Islip town centre will be greatly developed in the
future, it has more conveniences and at the same time, solves many problem related to
traffic.

TASK 2: ( 260 words)

It is a fact that recent time, in some countries, the number of young adults is
dominant the number of the elderly. This trend would introduce both pros and cons, but I
think that the benefits do outweigh the drawbacks.

On the one hand, it is clear that the superiority in number of young people would
bring about several disadvantages. One evident weakness is that it might cause the
overpopulation to the country, which leads to overload demand as demands for
education, health, job,…and decrease the life quality. Another reason is that it would put
pressure on employment issues for young workers.

On the other hand, I agrue that the advantages of this trend would prove to be
more important. First, young population helps the country to creat abundant and active
labor source. It means that the workers have ability to learn and practice faster the
scientific and technical progress, which might creat conditions to develop economy, not
only the traditional economy but also the modern ones. Second, young population is also
a potential market in product consumption. In particular, almost product in market now
are produced for and sold to young people, they are the object with the most need in the
market. This will help stimulate domestic production and economic development.

In conclusion, there are minus points to the dominance of young people in the
population. However, it seems to me that its benefits would be more important to a
country regarding to it’s creation of modern labor source and the positive impacts it has
on economic market.
