Task 1: (176 words)

The maps describe the way around a city hospital in two years, 2007 and 2010.

In general, after 3 years, the only addition is two roundabouts in two ends of the hospital road.
Besides, other sectors as bus stop and car park are redistributed in a reasonable way.

In particular, the bus stops were placed along the hospital road in 2007 but in 2010 they were
concentrated into a bus station in the west of that route and divided to two directions, one
towards the hospital and one towards the city road.

In addition, in 2007, the car park was located on the right of hospital road for both staff and and
public but after 3 years, only staff could use that car park, other people were required to use a
new car park in the East of the hospital, not far from the staff car park.

In sum, from 2007 to 2010, the route access to the city hospial has changed to become more
scientific and convenient for people to come and leave the hospital.

Task 2: (250 words)

It is thought by some people that language barrier is the biggest reason to social and practical
problems for people living in a foreign country. Personally, I support the view that not knowing
a foreign language will cause many difficulties when living abroad.

On the one hand, it causes many social problems as the migrant can not understand the culture
and local custom of the host country, which may lead to many misunderstandings. Each country
has its own rules and regulations so if they do not understand, they may use it in wrong
circumstances and make the local people feel uncomfortable. In the end, immigrants will not
able to integrate and find it harder to live in foreign country.

On the other hand, it is even easier for practical problems to happen with people who do not
know foreign language. For example, they will find it difficult to get the right food they want in
a restaurant as they can not read the menu. They also have troubles with finding direction,
reading important notices, looking signs in the street,etc. Especially, when they can not
communicate fluently, it will be hard for them to look for a job and live stably in that country for
a long time.

In conclusion, people should make their best effort to learn foreign language before going
abroad, it will not only help them to be more confident and comfortable in a foreign country but
also avoid issues of culture diffirences or difficulities in daily life.
