Task 1: ( 196 words)

The maps illustrate the grange park when it forst opened in 1920 and how it
changes today.

In 1920, there were 2 ways to get in the park, one in Arnold Avenue and one in
Eldon Street. In the centre of the park were a stage for musicians and a fountain.
Besides, rose garden and seats were scattered along the wall surrounding the park.
One significant point is that at that time, there was a pond for water plants in left of
the entrance in Aronold avenue.

Today, the grange park has changed a lot in structure. Firstly, there now has one
more entrance underground car park in the East. Secondly, a small stage in 1920
now becomes a huge amphitheatre for concerts, nearby is the rose garden
surrounded by seats in the centre of the park, the pond in the past is also changed
to a water feature now. At last, the park now opens 2 new areas: a café and a
children’s playing.

Overall, the grange park has been reconstructured since 1920. Many areas have
been improved and at the same time, many new areas have been built to increase
comfort.

Task 2: (285 words)

It is a fact that today, many individuals would like to start-up rather than to work
as an employee for any company or organisation. In this essay, I will outline what I
believe to be reasons and drawbacks of this trend.

There are several causes of the increase in the number of people who choose to be
seft-employed. First, the development of economy has increased people’s start-up
opportunities, now people have more education, ability and confidence in self-
employment. A second reason would be the huge benefit from start-up. In
particular, start a business if successful, will bring profits and much more money
than any common job, it can totally change a person’s life. Finally, self-
employment means you will be the boss, thus it can reduce worries about wages,
the risk of being fired and you are completely in control of your job.

On another hand, it is clear that this trend would also create some obivious
disadvantages. One evident weekness is that it would have more risk and potential
danger for startups. In other words, if the company successs, they will earn a lot of
money, but if not, they may incur large investment debts and face the risk of loss
and bankruptcy. In addition, startups have to take responsibility for all decisions so
it will be much more stressful for them than a normal employee. Last but not least,
to start a business, it takes a large amount of capital but the problem is that where
do they get capital and how to attract investment.

In conclusion, entrepreneurship is a popular trend these days, it is a great

opportunity but also a challenge with many risks for those who want to start a
business.
