FESTIVAL OF NEW EUROPE
It all started in 1993 with a simple idea of bringing together creatives
from different countries to one place – Piran & Portorož

The festival celebrates genius loci, the spirit of the place, and always
lives up to its motto "sharp competition, good school, crazy party and
devilish challenge".

Festival delegates arrive from over 40, mainly New European countries,
spanning from Trieste, Italy to Vladivostok, Russia, and from Helsinki,
Finland, to Tel Aviv, Israel, a region of more than 400 million people in
total.

"New Europe, New Thinking" continues to guide us through the creative,


business and social currents in the region, and introduces a world of
creativity to New Europe and vice-versa.

In the past 20 years, we hosted a number of Keynote Speakers not only


from the creative industry, but also other walks of life and profession and
we are very proud of it. Here are to name just a few: Sir John Hegarty,
Michael Conrad, Mark Tutssel, Slavoj Zizek, Stefan Sagmeister, David
Droga to name just a few.

MAIN THEME OF GOLDEN DRUM 2014

In 2014, we will focus this year around “Creativity, Content, Happiness”.

Creativity is still at its core and being a creative is a tough job. Yet, today
this is not enough. On one side we see and experience constant
innovations and new technologies, yet without purpose and content they
are less relevant, interesting.

On the other side, people – as consumers – expect and want interesting,


relevant, entertaining content that will lead to action and reaction.

Combined with emotions, gut feelings and experience it will lead to


success and happiness to those who create communications, to clients
and last, but not least, to consumers.

spot for young talents, creatives, marketers and others who believe that
there is no better time to work in the advertising industry than here and
now.

sessions aimed at Young Drummers (special competitions, portfolio speed-
dating, workshops and masterclasses).
