1. GLOBALIZATION
 GLOBALIZATION IS THE WORD USED TO DESCRIBE THE GROWING
INTERDEPENDENCE OF THE WORLD’S ECONOMIES, CULTURES, AND
POPULATIONS, BROUGHT ABOUT BY CROSS-BORDER TRADE IN
GOODS AND INFORMATION. COUNTRIES HAVE BUILT ECONOMIC
PARTNERSHIPS TO FACILATATE THESE MOVEMENTS OVER MANY
CENTURIES, BUT THE TERM GAINED POPULARITY AFTER THE COLD
WAR IN THE EARLY 1990S, AS THESE COOPERATIVE
ARRANGEMENTS SHAPED MODERN EVERYDAY LIFE.
MULTICULTURALISM
 MULTICULTURALISM THE VIEW THAT CULTURES, RACES, AND
ETHNICITIES, PARTICULARLY THOSE OF MINORITY GROUPS,
DESERVE SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGE OF THEIR DIFFERENCES WITHIN
A DOMINANT POLITICAL CULTURE.

2. HOW CAN YOU TEACH MULTI-CULTURAL LITERACY IN THE


CLASSROOM?
 ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO “SHOW AND TELL” THE CLASS ABOUT
THEIR HERITAGE
 CLASS VARIETY SHOW ABOUT CULTURAL DVERSITY.
 MAKING WRITTEN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ESSAYS, POEMS,
COMPOSING SONGS USING THEIR CULTURES AND LANGUAGES.
