TOPIC 1: Describe a successful brand that you know

When asked about a famous brand you know, I always give the example of Chanel - a
leading luxury brand in the world today. Founded in the years 1909-1910 by French
designer Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. It was famous around the world as a leading luxury
fashion and cosmetics brand in France. Its products focus on high-end fashion lines such
as haute couture, ready-to-wear, cosmetics, watches, and fashion accessories. Since its
establishment, three products: little black dress, Chanel No.5 perfume, and Chanel tweed
jacket are the most prominent products contributing to the success of the brand. It can be
said that product quality is one of the important factors determining the success of
Chanel. Each product is made and manufactured from the highest quality materials,
meticulously handcrafted. From the way the packaging is always done by the company
most correctly, that's why the price of Chanel's products is not cheap. However, the
quality and reputation are completely worth the money that customers spend. Unlike
many other brands, Chanel very rarely has promotions or offers, so it always keeps the
prices of products at the general price and does not drop too much. Maybe this is what
makes Chanel so successful.
TOPIC 2:
A. Describe functions and responsibilities of 3 departments of a company/organization
in detail.

I would like to describe functions and responsibilities of departments of a company such

as a Customer service, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing. Firstly, the Customer
Service department is one of the most important parts of the company. It is responsible
for the company to deal with all the inquires and support customers before and after sales,
helping the company maintain good relationships with customers to create brand loyalty.
However, for the production and brand of the company to reach many customers, it is
impossible not to mention the Sales and Marketing department. This department helps the
company run marketing and advertising campaigns. They make customers increase brand
awareness, help the company do pricing, provide and sell products/services. Moreover,
They provide customers with features and information about products. Finally, A
department that any company, small or large needs to help is HR. In this department, the
employees will help the company look for potential candidates, recruit and train them,
and help the company coordinate human resources. HR also takes care of employees'
benefits: salary, labor contract, insurance…. In the future, if there is a chance, I would
love to work in the CS department. Although my major is IB, I think with my patient
personality, many knowledge I have study in UEH and communication skills, I can do
well in this department.

TOPIC 4:
Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of free trade
For the advantages, you should mention who benefits from free trade and what
benefits they have.
For disadvantages, you should mention negative effects of free trade on businesses,
environment, social issues (unemployment, wealth inequality,…)
It’s clear that free trade has positively affected the economy. First of all, free trade can
help to integrate the countries into the world economy. So, countries can freely more
products across borders, which increase export of the countries. Besides, it is also the
increase of foreign direct investment. Investors will flock to the country. As a result, it
makes the money supply increase and the economy development. Another important
advantage is improvement standard of living. In fact, free trade will create more
opportunities to have better income since people can work in foreign companies where
have higher salary.

In contrast, free trade also has many disadvantages. As we can see, although opportunity
jobs are higher, working conditions are lower. Multi-national companies may outsource
jobs to emerging market countries without adequate labor protections. As a result, women
and children are often subjected to grueling factory jobs in sub-standard conditions.
Moreover, It is believed that domestic firms will face more competition from abroad.
When the small domestic firms can’t compete, these firms can go bankrupt.
TOPIC 5:
As the Regional Manager of Cocoon, a cosmetic brand, you believe that the best
qualified person the post of Sales team leader is Jennie. However, you know most of
the sales team would prefer a male leader. If you appoint a woman, you will probably
upset the team. How would you convince the team that a female leader like Jennie is
the more suitable for the position

A survey was carried out for ukprwire.com has found that two-thirds of women and over
half of men believe that women make the best salespeople. So, I think that Jennie is the
most suitable for the position Sales team leader.

She has 8 years of experience in sales & marketing and especially has more than 5 years
of experience as a Sales team leader at a cosmetic company in Korea. Besides, Jennie
also has many successful and famous sales campaigns at her old company. With her agile
personality, patience and ingenuity, and working style professionally trained in a foreign
environment, she is knowledgeable about cosmetic products and understands what
customers need. Particularly, she’s really excellent at bringing people together to create a
cooperative, peaceful atmosphere for everyone to work in and stay motivated to achieve
our goals.
