Types of Paragraph

Paragraphs separates different and distinct ideas in the body of the of text document. There are
three major types of paragraphs –blocked, indented and hanging paragraphs.

Blocked Paragraphs: All lines of blocked paragraph start at the same scale in the left margin
with clear space between each of them if single line spacing is used.
However, when double line spacing used, three clear spaces are left
(pressing the Enter Key twice).

Indented Paragraphs: In this style, the first line of paragraph is positioned about half an inch
from the margin while the rest lines are flushed to the left margins with
one clear space between the paragraphs irrespective of the line spacing
used.

Hanging Paragraphs: In hanging paragraphs, the first line is flushed to the left margin and the
rest positioned 2 or 3 spaces away from the left margin. One clear line
spacing is left between the paragraphs.
