Structure and function

4.1 Construction
• Cabinet body and doors made of polypropylene (PP)
• Bottom tray made of polypropylene (PP) integrated in the cabinet body
• Storage shelves made of polypropylene (PP)

4.2 Exhaust air connection and feed opening

The safety storage cabinets can be connected to a technical exhaust air system which ducts
outside at a danger-free location.
For this purpose, the exhaust air connection is located on the roof of the ACIP PP line and at
the rear wall of the ACID UTS line. It has a diameter of DN 75.

4.3 Doors
The cabinets of the ACID PP and the ACID PP UTS line are equipped with one or two wing
doors.
The door can be locked with the integrated locking cylinder. The key numbers are embossed
on the locking cylinder and on the keys supplied, e.g. A007. Locks can be subsequently
adjusted to the operator’s requirements.
NOTICE!
! Keep the doors closed and close them by hand after each work step.

Operating instructions

Transport
The safety storage cabinet is packaged for the transport.
WARNING!
Crush hazard due to safety storage cabinet tipping over
If the safety storage cabinet tips over when not transported with due
caution, this can cause potentially fatal crushing.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Only transport with two people.
• Only transport the safety storage cabinet upright and unladen.
NOTICE!
Tipping the safety storage cabinet over during transport
Damage to the safety storage cabinet caused by incorrect handling.
! • Only pick up the safety storage cabinet by using special and suitable
transport or lifting equipment.
• Pick up the safety storage cabinet once it is securely lashed and is not at
risk of slipping.

Installation and commissioning

6.1 Requirements on installation location
Install the safety storage cabinet so that the annual maintenance activities can
i be carried out without restrictions.

The safety storage cabinet is approved for installation in a building.

Fig. 6: Requirements on the installation location

Consider the following in relation to the installation location:

• The surface must be able to bear the weight of the safety storage cabinet when fully
loaded.
• The surface must be horizontal in order to guarantee problem-free functioning of the
safety storage cabinet.
• Protect the safety storage cabinet against moisture.
o If the humidity is too high, condensate can condense on the cabinet. This is to
be removed immediately and the room temperature increased.
• The operating temperature must be between 0 °C and + 50 °C.

Operating instructions

6.2 Alignment of the safety storage cabinet

As a standard, short adjustable feet are mounted in the corners of the floor area. The safety
cabinet can be aligned by screwing the feet in or out. To do this, the safety cabinet has to be
tilted to the side.

WARNING!
The safety storage cabinet must be completely empty for alignment.
Containers that are still positioned in the cabinet, can tip over, leak or
break: This can cause severe chemical burns to the operating personnel.
- Check before alignment if the safety storage cabinet is completely empty.

Fig. 7: Check the alignment

Correct alignment of the safety storage cabinet:

 When the doors are closed, the door gaps are of equal width.
 With two doors, the central gap and the ceiling gap form an even "T".

Operating instructions

6.3 Wall mounting

To ensure stability, the safety storage cabinets of the ACID PP line need to be fixed to a wall
with the enclosed mounting brackets.

WARNING!
Unfixed safety storage cabinets of ACID PP line M and XL can fall over.
This may result in death or serious injuries by bruises and chemical burns.
– Have the safety storage cabinet fixed to a stable wall by technical specialist
employees before use.
