Traits and Characteristics of the Church as a Sacrament

 Prayerful and liturgical presence – the church takes on

the challenge of being the prayerful, liturgical presence in
the world while at the same time calling the world “table
fellowship” that is, to the conditions of cooperation,
friendship and exchange which are characteristics of those
who dine together.
 Sacraments are efficacious.
 The church is holy, not by dint of its own merits, but by the
grace of God, which sacrifices the Church in Christ.
 The church is seen as a visible sign of the presence of
Christ in the world.
 It emphasized the visible (human) and invisible (spiritual)
sides of the church
 It challenges the church to be more like Christ in its
dealing with everyone.

 A sacrament is an outward sign of an inward reality.
The holy spirit is the inward reality na nagbibigay
