SEMIOTICS OF CULTURE AND THE CONCEPT OF TEXT

The text under analysis covers the problem of the complexity and
heterogeneity of the text. Such a text can enter into a complex relationship with the
surrounding cultural context and with the recipient. The text acquires memory due
to its ability to condense information. It not only transmits the information
embedded in it from the outside, but also transforms messages and generates new
ones. Therefore, it is worth highlighting the social and communicative functions of
the text.
1. Communication between the sender and the addressee. The text performs
the function of a message sent from the media to the audience.
2. Communication between the audience and cultural tradition. The text
performs the function of collective cultural memory.
3. The reader's communication with himself. In the course of such
communication of the recipient with himself, the text acts as a mediator.
4. Communication of the reader with the text. Both for the author and for the
reader, the text can act as an independent intellectual education.
5. Communication between the text and the cultural context. In this case, the
text acts as its full participant, namely the subject, source or recipient of
information.
In conclusion, it should be said that the text is presented as a complex device
storing diverse codes, capable of transforming the received messages and
generating new ones, as an information generator with the features of an
intellectual personality.
