Cn ALOIS GRUBER GMBH « A-4540 Bad Hall, Austria «Tel. (0) 7258/48 11-0. Tx. 28161 -Tix.(0)7256/9863 EMMY Tioiis eIgeU TECHNICAL INFORMATION PPR, PP, PE-HD Properties of polypropylene PP semi-finished products are made of polypropylene-homopolymer (PP-H) and polypropylene- random-copolymer (PP-R). Both types have been stabilized against high temperatures and are the best suited material for the production of pressure pipes and pressure fittings, First of all the mechanical properties of PP depend on the tacticity, the melt flow index and the temperature. Themost significant property of PR ists high thermal stability (up to 120°C). In contrastto other thermo- plastics, such as PVC or PE-HD, which may not be used with temperatures higher than 60°C due to the strong deformations they already show under equal operating conditions at temperatures of about 120° C, a pipe made of PP may repeatedly be used at temperatures up to 120° C in pressureless conditions for short periods of time. Impact strength In comparison with PVC, PP shows good impact strength. The impact strength depends ontemperature, increases with rising temperatures, decreases with falling temperatures, Due to polymerization PP-R- copolymer distinguishes itself by a better impact strength than PP-H. Electrical properties Polypropylene has excellent electrical and insulating properties, because, in essence, itis an unpolar hydrocarbon polymer. However, these properties may substantially deteriorate as a consequence of contaminations, the use of antioxidants or weathering. Physiological non-toxicity With respect to its composition polypropylene complies with the relevant food stuff regulations (FDA, BGA, BGBI 86/1975 LMG). Furthermore, exgeu PP pipes and fittings are allowed for use in drinking water systems. imagen saamneeepen | SRR remeron Esperance | Beacon acta nt ‘euTacHTEN Teh eeanmenne mercer | LE peeaentergm crt mom eeepreenocanans pumas paeimcenaoasate 8 i Cm 740.Bad Hall, Austria - Tel.
