Luna: Hi every one, my name is Luna and today we are going be with an iconic boxing player call

Mike Tyson.

Luna: Hi mike

Juanjo: Hi luna, nice to meet you.

Luna: let’s start with question right ?

Juanjo : okey, I am prepared.

Luna: first question. Where did you born?

Juanjo: Well I was born in New York City, on June 30.

Luna: wow, so how old are you and also talks about you’re childhood?

Juanjo: I am 55 years old, and My first neighborhood was Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, but when I
was seven years old my mother Lorna lost her job and my whole family was evicted. We moved to
Brownsville, but we were constantly evicted, living in abandoned buildings with no water, heat, or
electricity. In public school I was bullied for my weight, my lisp and for constantly being with my sister,
so at the age of seven I stopped going to school.

Luna: Omg, I never think that you have that nice history, when you start in the world of the boxing ?

Juanjo : Well, at the age of 11 I started boxing in a reform school, encouraged by a former boxer, who
at that time was the director of the institution. Many thought I had problems, because I was a big kid,
at only 12 years old I weighed more than 80 kilos.

Luna: Oh, i can’t imagine a kid with that weighed. Mike, There are many rumors about your past,
could you confirm this?

Juanjo : JAJAJ, well, I am going to explain it. Because of the economic situation we were living in, as I
told you before, I got into things I shouldn't have, I started stealing. In 1976 I was arrested for stealing
a credit card and for small violent crimes. By 1977, I started doing street fights with gambling, so I
started to be known in his city. Two years later he had already been arrested 38 times, so the judicial
system sent him to special schools, where he was given chlorpromazine.

Luna: Oh, that's a sad history, do you want to do a reflection about these?

Juanjo: Yes, I want all those boys and girls who are going through the same thing that I am going
through right now, that in spite of seeming to be in a black hole, don't let yourselves go down the
wrong path, but rather fight, that dreams do come true, and that you can make them come true.

Luna: So beautiful Mike, now let's talk about your sports life. So what was your inspiartion, for starting
these sport?

Juanjo: Well, remember when I told you that I was incarcerated, well, there, although I admit I did
wrong, I fought with some other prisoners, then I was transferred to Elmwood, where I met Bobby
Stewart, a former professional boxer. Stewart trained me for a few months and in March 1980
introduced me to the famous trainer Cus D'Amato. D'Amato and his assistant, Teddy Atlas, took me in
and began training me, with a view to getting me to start boxing.

Luna: Niceeee, but When and where was your fist boxing fight?

Juanjo: I started fighting in the so-called smoking places, places where cigarettes were plentiful and
fights were not legal. I won my first fight in May 1981 in the third round, at the Holyoke Boys Club in
May. After 10 fights, in that same year I participated in the Youth Olympics; I also won all the regional
tournaments, so I qualified to fight for the national title in Colorado, defeating all my opponents by
knockout in the first round. For my performances, I was nicknamed The Tank, since I weighed 91 kg
at the age of 14.

Luna: Where and when did you have your most important fight?

Juanjo: mmmm, I think it was the time in 1990, I fought against the South African Francois Botha,
where in a controversy I managed to win. .

Luna: Oh nice, How many figths have you won?

Juanjo: In total, 50 out 56.

Luna: Great, how many times have you benn in jail?

Juanjo: welllll, now i dont know what i was doing, but around 5, but as i said before, i am not glad
of that.

Luna: Yes, mike, and for last , what do you like the most of boxing?

Juanjo: Oh, that with these sport you can helps me to de-stress and let go of my pent-up
feelings..
