AUSTEN
Jane Austen was an important British novelist. She was born on
December 16, 1775 in Steventon, England. She was the
seventh daughter of the priest George Austen. Between 1785
and 1786 she and her sister entered a boarding school in
Reading where Jane began to write her rst short stories.In
1802, Harris Bigg-Wither proposed to Jane but she broke the
engagement the next day. In 1809 Jane began to write again. In
1810 her novel Sense and Sensibility was published. In 1813
she published the novel "Pride and Prejudice" that made her
famous.In 1817, she moved to Winchester, where she
died on July 18, 1817 at the age of 41, from Addison is
disease.
