RegO® Excess Flow, Check, Filler & Pressure Vapor Equali
1g Valves
Chek-Lok® Excess Flow Valves
Designed to provide a convenient means of withdrawing aud from
stationary containers prior to moving the container.
NEPA Pamphlet 58 standards require: 1) containers with 125 gallons
ater capaciy. or more, have a connection for iqud evacuation which
[Satleast 4’ NPT and2) conlaine's designed fo stationary use, have
‘ne mare propane than 6% of ther water eapacty in laud form during
transportation. These rules apply to containers manufactured after
uly 1,198
[Chek-Lok® Operation
‘The Chok-Lok® permis one transfer shutoff val with an adapter
telbe used interchangeably on a numberof tanks. With a Chek-Lok™
‘on each tank and a high capacity RegO 7550P Series transfer valve
fand adapter on al your sevice and delivery tucks ~ the need for
individual vansfor vate '¢ eliminated. This provides a substantial
Savings without saccficing safety.
Instructions to Open Chek-Lok®
1" Loosen eap to vert ary accumulated LP-Gas rom the Chok-Lok
After venting stops, remove the cap. If venting does not stop.
fetighton the cap and use other approved means to withdraw
qui fom the container
NOTE: Use a suitable size wrench when removing the cap
and adapter fom the Chek-Lok. Do not allow the Chek-Lok to
Umthread from the tank during removal. When necessary, use @
‘second wrench fo secure the Chek-Lok in poston.
2 Before beginning withdrawal, securely connect @ RegO 7550P
angle valve or sutable shut-off valve to the adapter. Fully open
{he shut-of valve ~ the valve's handwheel must be fully opened
before connecting adapter fo tank
‘3, Completely tread the adapter and shutoff valve assembly onto
the Chek-Lok by turning adapte's coupling nut clockwise untl it
's Ught Immediately close the shutoff valve Listen for an audible
lick to signal thatthe Chek-Lok has opened and is actuated for
quid withdrawal. The flow can now be controled by the transfer
valve.
4 Check the coupling nut and adapter assembly fr oaks using a
suitable eak detection solution
|F the ChelcLok falls to open afer following this procedure, the
pressure downstream of the shutof valve shouldbe increased
fo equalize pressure in the ChetcLok. tis simple to equalize
pressures using vapor ftom either the vapar retum vale of
Service valve, oF fom a hose end valve connected tothe delivery
truck
Instructions to Close Chek-Lok®
11 Toredlock the CheksLox, container pressure must be in excess of
35 PSIG, Close shutof valve and disconnect the hose or piping
‘Open shut-off vave fully. Lieud discharging to the atmosphere
‘should cause the excess flow feature of the Chek-Lok to close,
provided tank pressure is 35 PSIG or more,
If for any reason, the excess flow valve does not cose, the shut
off valve must 8¢ closed immeciately and must not be removed
nti the system can be evacuated and the unit repaired
13 Afler the excess flow valve loses, remove the Adapter ana Shute
(Of Valve Assembby,
4 Clean face of Chek-Lok and install the Cap with a gasket.
IMPORTANT. Only use the proper Chek-Lok Cap. Do not use @
standard pipe cap.

CChoksLok® Mounting
Chek Lok® Valves may be ether top mounted witha dip tube
¢ bottom mounted. For battom mounting, it preferable to
position the coupling in the head or sight of of the bottom

valve whieh could affect the proper operation of the excess flow
vane.
