 MSMEs contribute about 30% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
 In terms of exports, they are an integral part of the supply chain and contribute about 40%
of the overall exports.
 MSMEs also play an important role in employment generation, as they employ about 110
million people across the country.
 These are intertwined with the rural economy as well, as more than half of the MSMEs
operate in rural India.

Current policies to boost the MSMEs sector are as following:

 Under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’ was announced to help this sector grow.
 Other policies are Coir Industry Technology Upgradation Scheme (CITUS), Science and
Technology (S&T) for Coir, Skill Upgradation & Mahila Coir Yojana (MCY), etc.

Despite these policies this sector is facing credit crunch. Another problem is the lack of
experience of recources. Though Atmanirbhar package was launched still there should major
steps be taken to ensure credit avaiablility, resource pool and job security so that thisbakcbone
can perform better

The farmers are strike because of following demands which were not fulfilled according to them:

 The major reason being farmers are dead opposed to these new laws that not only omit any
guarantee of MSP but, on the contrary, open the doors to complete takeover by corporate
agribusinesses and big traders.
 They were demanding that the government should declare Minimum Support Prices that are
at least 50% more than what it costs farmers to produce a crop
 The farmers are also demanding that with over 50% of farmers in debt, the government
should waive all debt.

Based on the farmers demand they want that if the Act be continued there will be major player
taking over the market and hence they will suffer losses in future. On the other hand government is
facing huge losses by providing MSPs. Hence there should a solution midway to be provided where it
has to be ensured and regulated the selling of products be at fair price.
