Identifying the Door Lock Switch System
The easiest way to determine what type of door lack system you
are working with fs to remove the master locking switch teal
Uahich is usually on the crvers door oF en the center console
‘nce you have éetarmine which type of factary door lock circuit
you are working with and the color codes of the switch wires to
be used, you can usually simplify the installation by locating the
same wies jn the vehicle's kick pane.
NOTE: the wites should be retested at this point to be
sure they work the same at the kick panel. If no central
locking switch is found, the instalation may requite
door lack actuator
‘There ae eight different types of common door lock cuits (some
vehicles use mare unusual systems)
1m ype A~Thnee wir () 22 valtpuise controling factory lock relays
"= Type B Thee wit (-) ground pulse contrating Factory lock ays.
= ype C- Directed (no fatoy relay) reversng-platy switches.
f= Type D- Aftermarket actuator-driven cystems, These include
slave systems without an actuator in the driver's door but
with factory actuators in all the ather door, since these can
be controlled withthe installation of an aftermarket actuator
fm Type E Electroncaly-actvated vacuum systems (post-3985
ercedes-Benz and Audi). This requires specal programming
of the system,
[NOTE: This is only possible with systems with selectable
duration lack pulses (three second miaimum requted).
1m Type F- This 6 a one wire system. Ground pulse to unlock
and break open to lock
= Type G- This fsa one wire positive multiplex systom. Sending a
(6) 12 volt signal through resistors wil activate lack ane unlock
& [ype H = thie is a one wire negative multiplex system,
Sending a negative signal through resistors will activate lock
and unlockDE
This is a general information guide; For more detailed instructions on wiring vehicles door lock systems, inclucing information on multh-
plex systems, refer to the Door Lack Wiring Guice (Document #1042) available to authorized dealers at www.dlrectechs.com or through

SaaS‘One-Wire System - Cut to Lock, Ground to Unlock
This system usually requires a negative pulse to unlock and a cut
wire to lock the door. (These ae reversed in some vehicles.) It is
found in the late-model Nissan Sentra, some Nissan 2408K, and,
Nissan 3002K, 1992 and later. Its algo ‘oune! in some Mazda MPVS.
