It is recently reported that young people comprise the higher percentage of the
total population than the elderly do in some regions. This essay will argue that the advantages of this
outweigh the drawbacks. I will first prove that youngsters contribute mainly to the economic growth and
reduce burdens on healthcare system, followed by an analysis of how the primary disadvantage, namely
the rise of unemployment, is not valid.

On the one hand, the main reason to support this actual state is that the younger they are, the
faster the economy develops. It is undeniable that high percentage of productive workforce will be
created. Moreover, young adult’s adaption to changes and technologies cannot be underestimated as
they are definitely creative, energetic and enthusiastic. All these factors make the nation become a
charming market for international enterprise and promote the investment. For example, in Vietnam,
according to the general investigation in population reported in January 2021, 70% of the total are of
the working age and Vietnam’s gross domestic product growth rate is among the highest all over the
world. Secondly, while the older need special concern about their health condition, the youth are
unlikely to suffer from illnesses. When it comes to sickness, workers are prone to use their provided
health insurance, which imposes a great pressure on healthcare system. A survey conducted by a group
of specialists found that the older you get, the more your immune system deteriorates.

On the other hand, those opposed to this say that it only makes the unemployment get worse and
worse. However, this can promote their desire to represent themselves in order to prove that they
deserve their position. Consequently, the productivity rises and directly contributes to the development
of the economy. For instance, the recruitment standard is much higher than it of previous years,
especially of the multinational corporations.
