In Tokyo 2020 Olympics , there are serval impacts on the city in relation to the event planning and

management process. I will discuss in economic, social, environmental and technological.

In economic aspects, Tokyo 2020 Olympics bring commitment to venue construction impact to
Japan. In this case, the official cost for conduct the Olympics Game skyrocketed to $14.9 billion
from $7.3 billion because the one-year pandemic delay. The demand increase to $17 billion. Just
to build The Kengo Kuma-designed, 68,000-seat National Stadium and seven other venuesis are
$3 billion. The athletes’ village, surrounding roadwork and infrastructure, cost some $490 million.
It seems hosting of the Olympics puts a lot of financial pressure on Tokyo.

Also, Tokyo 2020 Olympics bring cost to local people. Because the over budget for the 17-day
Tokyo Olympics were held without foreign tourists or even domestic fans amid a COVID-19 state
of emergency during. Payments from taxpayers increased by 3.6 percentage points. Since the local
organizing committee and Tokyo’s hospitality industry stand to lose well over $2 billion from lost
ticket sales, reduced sponsorship income, a ban on foreign visitors, and the elimination of ticketed
spectators at most events. It means that the government's investment losses will only be made up
for the citizens.

In social aspects, Tokyo 2020 Olympics bring social trends to Japan. The skateboarding event
added by the Tokyo Olympics update. Yuto Horigome dazzled audience with his seemingly
effortless moves at Tokyo’s Ariake Urban Park when he took home the first-ever Olympic gold
medal in the sport in the men’s street skateboarding final. Sakura Yosozumi, Kokona Hiraki, and
Sky Brown, three girls born in Japan, took all the medals in the women’s park skateboarding final.
Skateboarding craze which got rolling earlier on in the pandemic as a way to get outdoors and
exercise while social distancing. It’s bringing more and more skaters to the streets and skateparks
of Tokyo.

Next, Tokyo 2020 Olympics bring traffic congestion to Tokyo. Athletes, Games stakeholders,
media personnel and others will use designated vehicles for transport during the Tokyo 2020
Olympic and Paralympic Games. Various traffic measures will be implemented in order to achieve
smooth transportation for athletes including designated vehicle lanes for Games stakeholders,
traffic regulations around each competition venues, and road closures of expressways. Traffic
congestion occurs often around the container terminals in Tokyo Port. Since many competition
venues of “the 2020 Tokyo Olympics” are located in the surroundings of the port area, serious
traffic congestion is during the Games as a result of combined port and Olympics-related traffic.

In environmental aspects, Japan deigned waste management for Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Tokyo
2020 Olympics had reduction of the generation of food loss. The lunch box had reduction of
packaging materials. Tokyo 2020 Olympics had reuse or recycle 99% of procured items and
goods. The recycling and volume reduction ratio of wastes generated from the construction of new
permanent venues are 99% or more. For example, Recycled Plastic Victory Ceremony Podium
Project launched in June 2019. They mobilised citizens to donate used household plastics for
recycling, with the cooperation of major retailers and 113 schools from across Japan and the active
participation of P&G Group offices and organisations. It had received total 24.5 tonnes of used
plastic collected for the creation of Victory Ceremony Podiums. It can be seen that the 2020 Tokyo
Olympics has a good design for waste management and eliminates the environmental load caused
by waste.

Based on the analysis, I have some suggestion on the organization and staging of international
events in the city.

First of all, I suggest that the
