Due to various reasons such as work scheduling, construction process, environmental

impact, technological innovation, underwater construction and concrete that are emptied
in contact with water; It is necessary to use anti-washout additives that prevent the
washing of fine particles (cement) from the mix and in such a way ensure the strength of
the concrete. The objective of this investigation is to determine the variation in the
compressive strength of normal concrete when adding anti-washout admixture
MasterMatrix® UW 450 in quantities of 260, 780 and 1300 ml per 100 kg of cement for
a specific resistance of 280 kg/cm2. To achieve the objective, the physical and
mechanical characteristics of the coarse aggregate and fine aggregate were defined, the
mix design was carried out by the aggregate combination methodology and 120
cylindrical concrete specimens of which the resistance to 7, 14 and 28 days of curing.
The results obtained in the laboratory indicate a decrease in resistance, for the dosages
of 260, 780 and 1300 ml of anti-washout additive per 100 kg of cement, respectively,
indicated a variation in resistance at 7 days of 7.96%, 9.38% and 19.52%, at 14 days the
variation was 16.38%, 21.39% and 33.64% and at 28 days the variation was 20.14%,
43.38% and 45.90%. Therefore, it was concluded that the resistance decreases the
higher the anti-washout additive dosage, being greater than 5% in all cases.
