Schwa sound
A schwa sound is a vowel sound not
prominently or distinctly heard bc it’s
overpowered by the consonant.
Initial = sound heard at the beginning of a word
Medial sound = sound found in the middle of
the word
Capital I = short i Last sound = the final sound
Y is sounded as the short I
