The Purpose of Islamic Law (Maqashid Syariah)

In Islamic Sharia the connection is with worship, and every worship has its own purpose.
Islamic sharia is like a tree that has a gradual integration of Islamic teachings, namely Ihsan,
Islam, and Iman. Each stage has its own purpose. The first is ihsan (leaf) which aims at
morality, this character is like a tree that connects the root and leaf and fruit, what is meant
here is every practice and worship that we do according to its morals. The second is Islam
(trunk) which aims to enforce religious Sharia, to maintain our own morality. The last is faith
(root), which aims to aqidah, here functions as a root or to establish the pillars of Islamic
aqidah itself, very influential on the above, namely Islam, and Ihsan. We can know that all
these practices are also greatly affected by our daily lives, such as Worship and Muamalah.
The kinds of muamalah that we can practice include social, political, economic, cultural,
educational, ect.

All the pillars of Islam we must always practice so that we are blessed by Allah SWT. There is
also public worship or muamalah that relates to our relationship with the natural
environment for example such as public law (criminal, war, etc.). No less important in the
scope of Islam is morality. This morality is related to morals with Allah and morality towards
Allah's creatures. Inclinations, actions, feelings in Islam are part of morality. Good morals in
Islam can be spelled out as akhlaq al-maheasy, commendable morals are called akhlaqul
kharimah, and the last one is bad morals which is called akhlaq al-ma'mumah.
