Origins for search of aliens

Some experts believe that astrology came to us from the Sumerians. Others
believe it was passed to us by medieval astrologers. But astrology itself may go
MUCH further back than the Middle Ages or Sumeria.
If you ascribe to Zachariah Sitchin's translations of Sumerian clay tablets (which
many do not); he claimed in his Earth Chronicles series, that the Sumerians
had planetary information that we are just now discovering (i.e. that Uranus and
Neptune were bluish-green and watery looking, which we discovered in the 20th
century). That they had the concept of a celestial sphere; of a horizon with a
zenith; of a circle's division into 360 degrees; and, a celestial band in which the
planets orbit the Sun (those clever Sumerians - keeping in mind that they supposedly
didn't have telescopes - and that they had only just invented the wheel
(for making pottery).
The fact that the Sumerians knew the Earth orbited the Sun is also interesting;
because, up until the Middle Ages people thought that the Sun orbited the
Earth. When Galileo Galilei, Italian mathematician and astronomer (1564-1642)
proposed that the Earth orbited the Sun, the Pope imprisoned him for life.
In addition they referred to the Earth as the seventh planet; which it isn't, unless
you're counting inwards from the outer rim of our galaxy; and, that you knew
about the planets we've just discovered in the last couple of centuries (again,
those clever Sumerians).
He also claimed that the Annunaki came from the planet Niburu an eccentrically
orbiting planet on the edge of our solar system. And that Niburu was the twelfth
planet in our solar system.
But regardless of who provided the information, and how far back it goes, we
can deduce certain things about the people who provided it. First of all, that
they had an advanced knowledge of astronomy; that they had an advanced
knowledge of mathematics; and, that they had a view of the universe that
science is just now exploring (i.e. that our universe may be a mathematical
whole; that it may be encoded like a computer; that it may actually be a two
dimensional Flatland, which we perceive as three dimensional; and, that it may
be holographic).
Perhaps whoever left us the system we call "astrology," may have been trying to
explain to us the FORM and FUNCTION of our universe; rather, than just giving
us a tool for telling fortunes.
