Rebuttal:: Not Because They Are Both Reactive, They
Rebuttal:: Not Because They Are Both Reactive, They
While it may be deemed as radical, it may not necessarily be. In the book of
Hasanuzzaman and Prasad (2020), they stated that “Unsaturated fats were damaged because
of oxidative stress after they directly reacted with free oxygen radical (Chen et al., 2016). This
metabolic reaction is named as lipid peroxidation (LPO). The addition of an oxygen molecule is
carried out by two major ways, that is, one is enzymatic lipid peroxidation by enzymes, and the
other one is nonenzymatic lipid peroxidation carried by free radicals.”1 This gives me the
qualifier that not because they are both reactive, it will be automatically be considered as
radical. It is the case where unsaturated fatty acids may be caused by another free radicals.
