Q.1 Read the situation well and answer the questions below it:
Consider that you have recently joined a multinational organization. You spend the initial few
weeks observing the culture of the organization. In this period, you observe that highly rigid and
weak culture prevails in this company. For instance, employees never appreciate each other,
always try to focus on individual tasks rather than teamwork, hide information, never trust each
other and don’t show willingness to initiate things out of the box. You are hired as a Senior
Manager Performance and Planning, you are responsible for the delegation of various tasks,
therefore, observing the current behaviour of employees and the impact over their performance
you look forward to bringing change in the attitudes and behaviours of employees so that
openness in culture can be promoted which will eventually boost organizational success.
A supervisor should have the option to convince labourer to remain with the association
or it can also be The aftereffect of the collaboration between the individual and the
circumstance and there are several more but at the end of the day whatever drives labour
into achieving your goal is the sense of motivation and this can also be driven by an
appropriate style of leadership. Leadership in business is the limit of an organization's
administration to define and accomplish testing objectives, make a quick and conclusive
move when required, beat the opposition, and motivate others to perform at the most
elevated level they can.
To find this audacity for being a inspirational leader first we would have to make
bondage with all of our staff which seems to be disconnected and thus involved into
individual tasks rather than teamwork because without team work many goals and
objectives can’t be achieved.
For first we would go with behavioral theory as to teach ourselves on how to connect
with everyone and bring them on a single page, then maybe when everyone feels
comfortable and function as a team then would opt for Democratic style of leadership
which is known as participative authority or shared administration, is a sort of initiative
style where individuals from the gathering play a more participative job in the dynamic
cycle. This sort of administration can apply to any association, from private
organizations, as to make them feel as a part of team and give them a chance at making
decisions for the firm.
For strategies we can say that once people are now pumped we can look into long term
relationships which managers commonly do at work place is share credentials of the firm
so that they may feel motivated and showing them how things are done at higher levels of
hierarchy. I will be adding more team work activities apart from individual works. If some
face external factor issues like jealousy to keep secrecy as new manager I would have to
solve individual queries such as some maybe looking for increase in bonus or pay and
thus keep grudges and secrets to impress bosses for a promotion or increased pay or
maybe increments in allowances etc.
2) What is power and how you can differ power and leadership? What power tactics
would you apply to persuade people to work collaboratively? Discuss the similarities
and differences among the five bases of power? (7.5 Marks, 300 words)
There are 9 organizational power. These strategies are manners by which people make an
interpretation of force bases into explicit activities
1. Legitimacy
2. Rational persuasion
3. Inspirational appeals
4. Consultation
5. Exchange
6. Personal appeals
7. Ingratiation
8. Pressure
9. Coalitions
The best one would be a mixture of these strategically to be applied on people such as use of
rational and inspirational appeals would be best for initial days to bring people on the same
page, adding consultation later.
Q.2 Read the situation well and answer the questions below it:
The group of Chinese working women participate in a yoga class in Beijing as a way to deal
with excessive stress levels caused by long working hours and trying to achieve a work/life
balance. Working women in China have high levels of stress because in Chinese culture
women are expected to take more responsibility for family matters than in other cultures. As
an individual approach to managing stress, yoga is a noncompetitive physical exercise that
combines stretching, mental imagery, breathing control, physical postures, and meditation.
Yoga reduces stress, anxiety, and muscle tension, provides a mental diversion from work
pressures, and promotes physical well-being by lowering blood pressure and heart rate.
1) Based on above given scenario how forces act as stimulants to change, and what is the
difference between planned and unplanned change? (7.5 Marks, 300 words)
Based on above given scenario, the force that acts as stimulants to change is Social
Trends, which means the way people perform typical daily actions has changed
dramatically in a short period of time.
An important element of the development and prevalence of the current partnership in the
dynamic and severe global marketplace is to continually produce and filter the climate, make
fundamental changes, and embrace change. In today's business world, with mechanical progress,
increasingly fierce market competition and constantly evolving customer requirements, the
association is expected to find different answers to quickly and effectively monitor unstable and
volatile situations. When changes occur, workers often ask questions like "why": "What is the
reason this happened to me?", "What is the reason for this now?" Vulnerability is usually related
to the main points and measures of progress. related to the expected results and your suggestions
to the individual representatives. In this situation, Chinese women have discovered the pressure
of legitimacy and have chosen to overcome it through the cycle of change. Representative
protection of change is one of the most poignant obstacles that the ever-evolving association
must overcome. During the cycle of change, the typical propagation of hierarchies, schedules,
and rules is disrupted. Important communications should help clarify and teach workers the
rationale, needs, or importance of change, and push them to help change. In this case, in a similar
way, Chinese women have also shed the protection of change, choosing to accept yoga for better
results and reduce anxiety.
On the other hand, if employees have been involved in the change cycle, they will feel more
responsible for the results. Giving employees a small opportunity to participate can
fundamentally affect their mindset, because it allows them to have a certain sense of authority
over the change cycle and helps to promote change efforts. In response to this situation, Chinese
women are very interested in yoga classes and try to achieve a better balance between serious
and interesting activities through yoga classes. The moment the impulse to change is executed, it
makes another reality through correspondence. Representatives facing the push of change will
quickly try to figure out and understand the expected impact of the change on them. The
generation of this meaning and satisfactory data and association correspondence can resolve
loopholes and ambiguities. Visionary correspondence in a repetitive and convenient way is the
basic tool of enlightenment and understanding.
GOOD LUCK!
