It also corresponds to the Association of Language ‘Teachers in Europe (ALTE) Level Two, and Council of Europe level BL ‘There are three papers in the examination: Reading and Writing, Listening, and Speaking. To get a passing grade, candidates must achieve 70% of the total marks available, or above. Part 1 tests common grammatical structures. You read a sentence, then complete a gapped sentence so that it means the same as the first sentence. In Part 2 you are told who to write to and why, and must include the three points given in the question. In Part 3 you choose to write either a story or an informal letter.
