Philosophy 1
Spencer Kagan’s Win-Win Discipline

2
Key Points of Spencer Kagan’s method.
❖ The Kagan method promotes responsible
behaviors and improves students’ social skills,
character qualities, and academic achievement.

❖ Establishes same-side cooperation with students

and uses “structures” to prevent and address
student behavior.

❖ Helps students find ways to persist and continue

to perform without feeling bad if they aren’t first
or best.

3
How does Spencer Kagan’s method match
my teaching style?

The Kagan method relates to my

teaching style because it promotes
cooperative learning between
students as well as establishing the
importance of success in students
and helping students to achieve.

4
How I’ll use the Kagan Method in my
classroom.
I will use this method by
implementing the different Kagan
strategies to boost student
involvement. Strategies like Quiz Quiz
Trade, Rally Robin, Think Pair Share
and Find Someone Who.
Encouraging students to interact
together and to cheer for their
successes together.

Philosophy 2
Harry and Rosemary Wong’s
Preventing Management Problems

6
Key Points of The Wong’s method.
❖ Begin by teaching students very thoroughly, the roles,
procedures, processes, and routines they were expected
to follow. Once students understand those requirements
and procedures, teachers are left free to focus almost
entirely on promoting learning.

❖ The first few days are devoted to two matters: (1)

clarifying the proper roles and responsibilities of students
and the teacher, and (2) teaching students exactly how to
follow the various procedures expected of them. The
results that follow will be good learning, good behavior,
and a thoroughly successful school year.

7
How does The Wong’s method match my
teaching style?
Wong’s method is important and
relates to my teaching style because I
believe in teaching students rules and
procedures first, Establishing a solid
groundwork for students to
understand and be successful in
achieving success and growth is
crucial.

8
How I’ll use The Wong’s Method in my
classroom.
I would use this method in my
classroom by establishing rules and
procedures from day one. I would
spend the first few weeks making sure
my students fully understand
procedures and rules. Leading to
fewer classroom interruptions and
creating an understanding and
accepting learning environment.

11
How does Fred Jones’ method match my
teaching style?

Fred Jones’ method relates to my teaching

style because I’m all about creating welcoming
environments that foster a love for learning
and also creating positive teacher-student
relationships that help students to be
self-disciplined and reduce behaviors.

12
How I’ll use the Fred Jones’ method in my
classroom.
I would use this method in my classroom by
focusing on classroom structure,
limit-setting, Say-See-Do Teaching,
responsibility training, and individual student
help. By using this method in class students
will not only have the support needed within
the class to be successful but will also have a
positive attitude towards class and learning
as a whole.
