Students Be responsible

The use mobile phone has become a part of our daily life, whether we admit it or not. Students now
have their own mobile phone to play instead of studying. Technology is moving rapidly and we have to
keep pace with it or else be left. But how is it helping the students exercise their thought process instead
artificial intelligence?

The Department of Education (DepEd) came out with the memo that prohibits the students of
Elementary and Secondary schools from using mobile phones and pagers during class hours. This
prohibition helps to divert the attention of students in studying but mobile phone can also be a big help,
in terms of using it for research in relation to their studies.

One of the problems raised is that students are distracted by the games and social sites on their phones
which make them lose interest in schoolwork and other academic activities while it helps them access
information to expand their knowledge on their subjects

Teachers and parents to devise ways to educate students on the responsible use of mobile phones to
prevent students from engaging in misguided and immoral activities.
