Position Description: Cascade Piano Studio is seeking a piano teacher to provide high quality musical education to students of all ages in Northeast Seattle. Lessons will take place at the studio at 2300 NE 65th St and last 30-60 minutes. The successful candidate is comfortable teaching students of all ages in a variety of styles of music. Lessons cover a range of technique, repertoire and music theory. Job responsibilities include planning and preparing lessons in response to students’ individual needs, motivating students and encouraging progress, interacting and communicating via e-mail with parents about students’ progress, attending two recitals yearly, and some familiarity with or the ability to learn Google calendar.
Desired Qualifications: BM/BA in Music. Preferred MM or MA or some advanced degree work in Piano or Organ. Previous teaching experience is also a plus.
Teaching Schedule: Teaching times are available on weekday afternoons from 2:30-7:30 beginning in January (or possibly early December) and will be scheduled in accordance with the teacher’s availability. Lessons will be scheduled back to back as the teacher’s schedule fills up. Lessons run September through June with a flexible teaching schedule over the summer.
Compensation: Compensation dependent on experience. This is a position as an hourly employee and includes the following benefits: unemployment, family medical leave, long-term care insurance, and paid sick leave.
