Product Information: 25I-NBOH (Hydrochloride)
25I-NBOH (hydrochloride)
Item No. 14909
Laboratory Procedures
For long term storage, we suggest that 25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) be stored as supplied at -20°C. It should
be stable for at least two years.
25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) is supplied as a crystalline solid. A stock solution may be made by dissolving the
25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) in the solvent of choice. 25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) is soluble in organic solvents
such as ethanol, DMSO, and dimethyl formamide (DMF), which should be purged with an inert gas. The
solubility of 25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) in ethanol is approximately 20 mg/ml and approximately 30 mg/ml in
DMSO and DMF.
25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) is sparingly soluble in aqueous buffers. For maximum solubility in aqueous
buffers, 25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) should first be dissolved in DMF and then diluted with the aqueous
buffer of choice. 25I-NBOH (hydrochloride) has a solubility of approximately 0.5 mg/ml in a 1:10 solution of
DMF:PBS (pH 7.2) using this method. We do not recommend storing the aqueous solution for more than one
day.
Description
25I-NBOH is a derivative of the phenethylamine hallucinogen 2C-I (Item No. 11113) with an
N-(2-hydroxybenzyl) addition at the amine. It can act as a potent agonist for the human serotonin 5-HT2A
receptor (Ki = 0.061 nM) with 12-fold greater potency compared to 2C-I itself.1-2 This product is intended for
research and forensic applications.
