1.) BASED ON THE VARIOUS DEFINITIONS OF CULTURE, CREATE YOUR OWN CONCEPT OF CULTURE ( 5 ).
- culture is a strong part of people's lives. It influences their views, their values, their humor, their
hopes, their loyalties, and their worries and fears. So when you are working with people and building
relationships with them, it helps to have some perspective and understanding of their cultures.

2.) EXPLAIN THE NATURE OF CULTURE ( 5 ).

- The Nature of Culture is based on the uniquely human capacity to classify experiences, encode
such classifications symbolically, and teach such abstractions to others. ... Anthropologists employ
fieldwork and comparative, or cross-cultural, methods to study various cultures.

THESE CHARACTERISTICS. YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE SITUATION FOR EACH CHARACTERISTICS. (5).

* LEARNED - Culture is learned. While much of what we learn about a culture can be learned through
school, family, peers, and the media, there are often many things about a culture that are learned
subconsciously. For example, we may learn when particular holidays occur in school, like Christmas is
always on December 25th

* SHARED - Cultural traditions can be shared through storytelling, music, song, dance, or art. You can
also help bridge the gap by sharing aspects of your social influences. As you meet new people in the US
and start to form connections and friendships, you may take part in their celebrations or significant life
events .

* BASED ON SYMBOLS - One of the most common cultural symbols is language. For example, the letters
of an alphabet symbolize the sounds of a specific spoken language. Symbolism leads to the “Layers of
Meaning” concept. Culture is the meaning that is shared to provide guiding principles for individual
meaning.

* INTEGRATION - Cultural integration is when individuals from one culture adopt practices from another
culture without diminishing their own. Examples of this practice include introduction of cultural foods,
beliefs or arts to a different culture.

* DYNAMIC - Culture is dynamic because it represents the experiences, beliefs, norms etc of living
people. ... All cultures are dynamic and constantly changing as individuals navigate and negotiate the
beliefs, values, ideas, ideals, norms, and meaning systems that make up the cultural environment in
which they live ,

4.) DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF LANGUAGE AS AN ELEMENT OF CULTURE (5).

- Language is intrinsic to the expression of culture. As a means of communicating values, beliefs and
customs, it has an important social function and fosters feelings of group identity and solidarity. It is the
means by which culture and its traditions and shared values may be conveyed and preserved
