What is the significance of your course to our subject “Governance, Business Ethics, Risk
Management and Internal Control?

Explain briefly the (8) basic characteristic of Good Governance.

PARTICIPATORY
 It means not showing any bias in organization, they allowing both men and women to participate in
decision making especially the affected and interested parties. Through that, organization can get the
honest respond of people that could help in decision making in organization.

RULE OF LAW
 It means didn’t ignore the law. Both organization and its employees are following the law. Also, the
organization practice justice system especially when it comes to the human rights of their employee.
They didn’t allowed biases to prevent injustices.

EFFECTIVENESS and EFFICIENCY


 Good Governance must meet effectively the needs and wants of their consumer and utilize available
resources efficiently. So the organization can ensure that they gave the best quality service in their
community.

TRANSPARENCY
 It means organization is open to the information especially to the parties that is directly affected when
it comes to making decision. Organization must make the information readily available and
accessible to the people.

RESPONSIVENESS
 It means organization must respond to their stakeholder within appropriate and reasonable time
frame. Also, the organization must give a good respond to the inquiries of their people, so that they
can appreciate it and do their part in the governance process.

EQUITY and EXCLUSIVENESS


 It means that all parties are must be considered in making decision, nothing is left, everyone must be
included. Even the lowest rank in organization must be given an opportunity to participate in decision
making.

CONSENSUS ORIENTED
 It means that before making decision within the organization, they heard and considered first the
different viewpoint of their people. Through this system, they can prevent the possible conflict
between the different parties.

ACCOUNTABILITY
 It means that every person within the organization is responsible for their action and they are ready
for the consequences of their mistake, especially they are not taking the blame to others that are
innocence.
