Shackle
Sling, 2 m (6.6 ft)
1. Remove the wheel according to Wheel, removing and installing.
2. Drain the oil from the axle.
Capacity, see: Front axle, capacity.
3. Mark the position of the hub reduction gear relative to the axle housing.
Connect the lifting tool to the hub reduction gear. Remove the retaining bolts and the hub reduction gear.
Weight of the hub reduction gear approx.: 190 kg (419 lb)
NOTE! In certain cases, the half shaft and brake disc may remain in the hub reduction gear.

Hub reduction, installing
1. Install the O-ring on the axle housing.
Install the brake disc.
Check the springs.

2. Install the brake plate and guide pins.

3. Connect the lifting tool to the hub reduction gear and install it.
Weight of the hub reduction gear approx.: 190 kg (419 lb)
NOTE!
Install according to markings and check that the guide pins in the hub reduction gear engage with the
recesses in the brake piston.
NOTE!
Sun gear, half shaft and brake disc may also be located in the hub reduction gear before installing on the
axle.

4. Install and tighten down the bolts.

5. Remove the lifting tool from the hub reduction gear.

6. Bleed the brakes, see: Brake system, bleeding up to incl. point 5.
7. Adjust the adjusting screws against the applied brake piston. Unscrew the adjusting screws 1/2 turn. Lock
the adjusting screws with the lock nuts. Release the brake pedal and turn off the engine.

8. Fill the axle with oil.
