With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following
learning outcomes:

Learning outcome 3: Demonstrate comprehension of shorts audios or


videos related to areas of most immediate personal relevance when basic
everyday vocabulary and expressions are used.
Learning outcome 4: Identify specific and explicit information from short
and simple written texts on familiar matters through various reading tasks.
The activity consists of:

Part 1 Individual activity


-Study the contents in the E-Book:
  Unit 10 - It was an accident
  Unit 11 – Sports
 Unit 12 - International Travel

Now, go to the collaborative forum


1. Choose one of the topics proposed in the document: “Annex Task 7 - Topics
for comparisons”. Write a post in the forum to present the chosen topic to your
partners, so that they have to choose a different one.

2. Write a short paragraph to describe the chosen topic. After, write at least 5
comparative sentences, 3 comparisons of equality and 3 superlative sentences
about it. Post this description in the forum. Don’t attach any file, write the
texts directly in the forum.

3. Check your partners’ descriptions and make comments about them in order
to improve their descriptions.

4. After your partners’ revision and comments, edit your text (if necessary) and
copy your description and the sentences about comparisons in a power point file
and post it in the forum. Use photos to show the items you describe

Part 2 Collaborative activity

1. The group design a power point presentation in which you all include each
participant’s descriptions and comparisons with photos (from 10 to 15 slides).
Post this presentation in the forum for final group revision.

2. Explore the Prezi presentation website at www.prezi.com . Create a free account


in https://prezi.com/pricing/ . Look for the free accounts on the basic label on
top and start creating the group presentation.

3. All the forum participants need to design, as the group’s product, a Prezi
presentation to include the descriptions and comparisons made about each one
of the proposed topics.

4. Talk to your partners in the collaborative group and decide who is going to be
the submitter.

5. After creating the presentation, the group’s submitter must post it in the forum.

6. The final group’s document will be the group’s power point presentation in which
you include at the end of it the link of the Prezi presentation. The submitter student
sends this document to the evaluation environment. He or she must take a
screenshot and post it in the forum to prove that the task has been submitted.

Part 3: Speaking Encounters*

Continue participating in 2 English Speaking Sessions per week via skype or


hangouts (Use of video camera and microphone is mandatory).

your participation.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Collaborative evidences, consider the following:

 All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.

 In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product in
the environment indicated by the teacher.

 Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets
all the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

 Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during
the time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the
submitted product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must
comply with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity
guide. Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity
must comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic
plagiarism. You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in
the virtual campus.
