for this life you have given. Thank you for our professor and we ask you
to give her strength and wisdom today. As begin our class, we pray that
you grant us a heavenly knowledge so that we may understand the lesson
for today. Give us joy while we learn and help us participate in the
discussion. May this devotion help us to develop our deeper relationship

Jesus, The Master Teacher
Have you ever had a genius teacher before?
How does it feels listening to a teacher who looks like
having different spirit or a teacher having so much
level of I.Q.?
And while you’re in the middle of scratching your
head, he will say,

“Those who have ear, let them hear?

Why we call Jesus the master teacher?
I guess you already have an idea who I am talking about. He is Jesus,
the master teacher. Although he spent most of his time in preaching,
healing, and performing miracles, he is also a great teacher. Did you know
that in 4 gospels he was called teacher 45 times?

We call Jesus the master teacher because?

1. He is the true teller, he knows, understand, and speak the

truth. He never lie, and speak of flowery words just to
convince someone. (Matt. 5-7)
2. He teaches with methods, he uses scriptural knowledge.
He often quoted scriptures from the Old Testament to prove
that he has a basis.
Why we call Jesus the master teacher?

3. He teaches to convert, his words never left empty, it

changes life. Like the life of Nicodemus. Jesus turns him friend
from being an enemy.

4. He uses rhetorical question, in order to examine their

motives. (Mark 10:38)
Why we call Jesus the master teacher?

 5. He uses the mastery of symbolism, through storytelling

and by using symbols such coins, sheep, grapevine, etc.
to speak spiritual truth.

 6. He uses parables, this is very unique method of Jesus

for teaching, he used it to communicate to those people
who wanted to learn about the gospel and confused
those people who harden their hearts. (Matt. 13:11-13)
What I have observed and learned?
As we see, Jesus used different methods of
teaching in order to understand in the most possible
way in different location, sometimes in the temple, in
the mountain, the boat, in the seashore, and even
while they were walking. Teaching is like his daily
routine and it is for everybody who wanted to listen
and learn. Sometimes he also teach intentionally
those people who are just trying to test him, like the
Pharisees, but they never understand. As we go
along the way, still Jesus is teaching us through the
bible, through the hymns and songs, and through the
guidance of the Holy Spirit.
What I must do?
 Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew. 5:6)
We must be hunger and thirsty not just for knowledge but for
wisdom and righteousness of God. Our goal is to be like Him.

righteousness. Holy Spirit guide us, as we seek for
wisdom, help us to obey you and do what ever you
wanted us to be. In Jesus name… Amen!
