HOMEWORK 1
Make a simple situation emphasizing the 9 characteristics of a good researcher.

Answer:

1.) Curious.
Aries Lynx is very interested about cars, engines and many more. He discovered
that in any vehicle, gas is needed for it to operate and start. He then, studied the things
that is used to make gasses that makes it possible to operate cars easily.

2.) Honest.
Thanis is a part of a research group, she and her group observed that their research
product is not working even after multiple tries but the results and interpretation of data is
already needed by their teacher. They decided that they will write what they truly found
out on the experimentation and will just try again for another.

3.) Efficient.
Zendaya is known for being creative in her class, she is very good at art. One day,
their teacher gave them a project for their last grading, they are tasked to make a mini
diagram of Biodiversity out of popsicle sticks. After school hours, all of Prima’s
classmates went to shop for what they need but she on the other hand went home. She
didn’t buy anything new materials instead she tried to find some left materials from what
she bought before and luckily she found them, she started making her project from those
materials because she knows that instead of buying another new ones, she should not
waste first the ones that can still be used because she will not only save money but also
she will not waste the left materials. In the end, she made a good project that her teacher
praised.

4.) Logical.
Khyline is scared of cockroaches but because her uncle loves it, she saw it one
time, and she noticed that every type of cockroach is laying eggs except one. She learned
that it is called Madagascar Hissing Cockroach and that only females do it, they produces
live birth. She thought that all insects lay eggs only but actually it’s not. Her knowledge
about them is not quite wide but she thinks it is not right to say that all insects lay eggs.

5.) Effective.
Phoebe is the president in her classroom, she is very strict when it comes to
cleanliness and orderliness in their room. The school is on their foundation week and one
of the competitions is to have a creative room for each class. Prima immediately take into
action because not only she wants to win but also her classmates. And because she is
kind, generous and a leader material, her classmates move to her orders without any
rants. Even without she’s not asking for a person to help her someone will eventually
help her and the tasks to do. In the end, their class won because they made a teamwork.

6.) Active.
Prima is always engaged in doing experimentations, on a daily basis, she tends to
watch different experiments and tries it if is feasible. She participates well especially in
Science, not only because it does experiments but also because there are different things
that makes it worth it to listen to.

7.) Practical.
An SIP is one of the tasks to do in Rina’s subject but she noticed that if she will
buy materials that are too expensive just to make a product and will not work in the end,
making an alternative is always an option. She decided that instead of using materials that
can also have a bad effect to the users, she will just search for an alternative that is
organic and effective, in that way she cannot only save money but also produce and
promote organic products.

8.) Inventive.
Isaiah is a boy who had given a gift of intelligence, he is very smart for his age.
One day, a camping is made for every class in the school and he asked his parents if he
can join, luckily his parents approved it. One of the activities in that camping is just
wandering on the forest to find treasures. Each treasures have gifts, the campers
immediately readied their selves. Isaiah is very attentive to his surroundings when the
activity started, the activity happens from the afternoon until 9:00 in the evening. While
walking Isaiah and his members flashlight ran out of battery and their teachers phone is
not with him. An idea came to Isaiah’s mind, he immediately open the flashlight and get
the batteries out, he instead put a wet soil on the inside of the flashlight, after some
minutes the light bulb produced light and they got to go to the camping area safely.

9.) Cost-Effective.
As a part of the Science Club Foundation, Freya and her co-members donated their
thesis product Automated Corn Grit Machine to the farmers in Quezon City on year
2018. This machine is designed to help them to make rice grains from corns. They think
that this will eventually help those farmers because it will make their task to finish easily
and use corn as an alternative to cereal grain. And now, they visited them and they are
happy to know that the machine is still working and helping them. Even after two years,
it can still be used and is functioning well. Even though, its cost is not that expensive, it is
still in good condition.
