Ludhiana’s chocolate Ganesha that melts into delish treat for 500 kids
Ganesh Chaturthi is always celebrated with gusto. The video of chocolate idol now has
left people dumbfounded. The post till now has gathered more than 9 thousand likes and
the numbers are skyrocketing. The whacking idol is made of 200 kgs of Belgian chocolate.
A restaurateur and chocolatier from Ludhiana in Punjab has made an eco-friendly
Ganesha idol made completely of chocolate. Harjinder Singh Kukreja has been making
delish eco-friendly Ganesha idols for the past six years. This idol is made of Belgian
chocolate. This year, the eco-friendly idol has been made from 200 kilos of chocolate and
like previous years, the idol will be immersed in milk and the resultant chocolate milk
later will be collected and distributed among underprivileged children.

This is the best way a Ganpati idol is being disposed of. When Harjinder Singh first made
this ambrosial idol in 2016, he got a sculptor who worked with the chefs to make the idol.
Now it is made entirely by the chefs of the restaurant. It took over ten days to craft this
whacking idol. It’s not an easy-breezy task. Each year, over 500 kids end up savoring a
glass of chocolate milk as a Ganeshotsav treat. It’s the sweetest and the noblest way to
cap a celebration. We should all take a leaf out of Harjinder’s book and stimulate
everyone to celebrate eco-friendly Ganesh Utsav.
