Welcome to Live for Speed!

THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE EARLY ALPHA TEST VERSION OF LFS S2 FROM 2005.

A PRIVATE VERSION FOR BETA TESTERS, 0.5F WAS LEAKED IN 2005.
IT HAS BECOME WELL KNOWN BECAUSE OF THE LX8 GTR WHICH IS AN
OVERPOWERED, UNDERDEVELOPED BEAST OF A CAR. THAT'S WHY IT WAS
NEVER RELEASED AND THERE ARE NO PLANS TO DEVELOP IT FURTHER.
WE ARE RELEASING 0.5F2 NOW SO IT CAN BE USED WITH AN S2 LICENSE.
IT WAS NEVER READY TO BE RELEASED AND STILL ISN'T.

"LFS Keys" page at www.liveforspeed.net

To get info from master server - /m command :

/m find USER : find a user online

/m ? : get a list of master commands

Car Strings :
-------------
The /cars command for the startup command line or for hosts / admins
now uses the three-letter car codes introduced for S2.

/cars=MRT :Allow MRT5 only
These Car Groups can be used as well :

ALL - all cars

ROAD - road legal cars
RACE - race cars
TBO - same as XRT+RB4+FXO
LRF - same as LX6+RAC+FZ5
GTR - same as FXR+XRR+FZR

The plus and minus symbols can be used in conjuction with these :

/cars=TBO+LX4 :Allow XRT, RB4, FXO and LX4

/cars=ROAD-UF1 :Allow all road cars except the UF 1000

Replay Analyser File :

----------------------
This feature is provided for use in external analyser applications.
It stores data from one lap of driving.

- USER information :

Press ESC while viewing the car in a replay, on the lap BEFORE the
lap you wish to analyse. Click on "Output lap data" and enter the
name of the output file. This file will be saved in a "raf" folder.
Use an external application to open the .raf files (not supplied).

The file will be created when the car crosses the start line and
will be closed when the car crosses it again 1 lap later.

- PROGRAMMER information can be found at www.liveforspeed.net

Translation :
-------------
To create a language pack :

- First run LFS. This will create a file "English.txt" in a folder

"data\language". Please do not edit English.txt as it will be
overwritten each each time you start LFS. Instead, make a copy of
the file with the name of your language replacing "English".

- After creating your new file, it can be edited in a text editor.

- Load your language in Options...Player.

- Reload the language file any time with SHIFT+F5, for convenience.

- The help.txt file can also be edited, in the data\misc folder, copy
the file help.txt to a new file help_XXX.txt (where XXX.txt is the
name of your language file).

- Only the ISO character set is supported. Languages which require

characters not included in the ISO set are not yet fully supported.

Motion Simulator Support : (OutSim)

--------------------------
The user's car in multiplayer or the viewed car in single player or
single player replay can output information to a motion system while
viewed from an internal view.

This is controlled by four lines in the cfg.txt file :

OutSim Mode 0 :0-off 1-driving 2-driving+replay

OutSim Delay 1 :minimum delay between packets (100ths of a sec)
OutSim IP 0.0.0.0 :IP address to send the UDP packet
OutSim Port 0 :IP port

Each update sends the following UDP packet :

unsigned int :time in milliseconds (to check order)

Angular Velocity :3 floats
Orientation :3 floats Heading, Pitch, Roll
Acceleration :3 floats X, Y, Z
Velocity :3 floats X, Y, Z
Position :3 ints X, Y, Z (metres x 65536)

Note 1 : X and Y axes are on the ground, Z is up.

Note 2 : Motion simulators can be dangerous. The developers of the

Live for Speed racing simulator do not support any motion systems in
particular and cannot accept responsibility for any injuries or death
connected with the use of such machinery.
