1. What is Electrical Safety Practices - Control electrical hazards through safe work
practices. Plan your work and plan for safety. Avoid wet working conditions and other dangers.
Avoid overhead powerlines. Use proper wiring and connectors.
2. Introduction to Electrical Hazard - The main risks associated with electrical energy are
electric shock due to direct or indirect contact with live parts and electrical burns. The human
body is very sensitive to current magnitude. Weak current mostly causes functional disorders,
while heavy current cause tissue burns. Both effects could be fatal.
3. Cause of Electrical Hazard - Electrical hazards exist when wires or other electrical parts are
exposed. Wires and parts can be exposed if a cover is removed from a wiring or breaker box.
The overhead wires coming into a home may be exposed. Electrical terminals in motors,
appliances, and electronic equipment may be exposed.
4. What is Electrical Safety - Electrical safety refers to any safety precautions taken against
electricity. Electricity is undoubtedly one of the most basic needs in modern life, but electrical
hazards are very dangerous.
