The importance of recycling

The Little Orchestra Society, also known as LOS, is interested in

educating people of (1) ages and creating connections with
the community. This society was founded (2) Thomas K.
Sherman in 1947 and it is now considered one of the oldest professional
orchestras in New York City.
Their programme includes fun and interesting activities for families. The LOS
KIDS Orchestra (3) become quite famous internationally.
Their new series of concerts are for families and children (4)
three and ten years old. The Little Orchestra Society is (5)
proud because they are an orchestra for audiences of all ages.

Look at the picture and read the story. Write some words to complete

Houses on stilts: a safe place to live?
Houses on stilts are very common in places where the water level can
go very high. Robbie lives in a house on stilts, in a small village near
the Caribbean Sea. Many people live in this type of house, and they are
usually safe. Unfortunately, one night Robbie’s family found themselves in
serious danger.
Robbie woke up to the noise of heavy rain in the middle of the night. He
thought there was nothing to worry about and that in the morning it
would be clear and sunny. However, the heavy rain didn’t stop. He got
up and went to his parents’ room. They were worried as they noticed the
level of water was going up. Robbie wanted to leave, but his parents said
it was too dangerous. So they all waited and prepared some inflatable
boats they had for an emergency.
After a while, they heard a helicopter flying nearby. All the people were
asked to remain in their houses, but they were also told to pack in case of
an emergency. Robbie and his family took a few items and food in case
the weather conditions got worse.
