Dir ections: Students r ead the two wor ds in each box. Students
need to watch f or the f inal “ e” sound or look fo r the two vowels
together while switching back and f or th f r om a shor t to a long
vowel sound.
Use with small gr oup: Listen to students r ead the list of wor ds in
each box. Or students could take tur ns r eading one box at a time
as they r ead ar ound the table.
Use at a reading center : Set several copies at a reading center f o r
students to r ead together with their partner . Students can take
tur ns r eading each box.
