7. Explain the difference between task and workload and discuss their
relationship. (15 pts)
In my understanding, the task is usually an assigned piece of work
often to be finished within a certain time. Task are measured by their
number not by how much effort is demanded from individuals to do them.
While the workload is the amount of work to be done by someone or
something. The workload can also be classified as quantitative (the amount
of work to be done) or qualitative (the difficulty of the work). Task and
workload are related to each other. I have defined that system factors such
as airspace demands, interface demands, and other task demands
contribute to task load, while operator factors like skill, strategy,
experience, and so on determine workload.
