Quezada 4th Discussant: Glenn Ramos Topic: Effective Teacher This topic was very interesting because it discussed about some significant information on how to become an effective teacher. As far as I know, teacher profession is not that easy because they have to look for new and different methods to understand the different learning abilities and capacities of the students. They look for different tools or different strategies, so students can develop skills and progress in class. It takes patience, dedication, passion, and the ability to do more with less. It is a treacherous journey often filled with just as many valleys as there are mountain. Knowing this kind of discussion is very significant especially to an aspiring teacher who wants to become an effective teacher to their students in the future. We can differentiate how the common teacher and effective teacher act in the classroom setting. A common teacher does not help shape the way children grow beyond the subject because they have a negative attitude in assessing their students. Unlike an effective teacher, they are prepared, set clear and fair expectations, have a positive attitude, patient with students, and brings out the best with their students. In this topic, I clearly understand that the effective teacher is a revolutionary because he/she knows that, with the exception of parenthood, her/his role is the most vital one on earth in the preservation of righteousness and the elevation of humanity. That’s why, I salute to those teachers who are always willing to explore and find ways to become an effective teacher.
