SULTAN ISKANDAR MUDA

Sultan Iskandar Muda was born in aceh, banda aceh, 1593. Pass away in banda aceh 27
december 1636. son of Putri Raja Indra Bangsa and Sultan Mansyur Shah. Descendants of the
King Darul Kamal (from the mother's side) and the King Makota Alam (from the father's side).
Darul Kamal and Makota Alam were said to have been two neighboring settlements separated
by rivers and their combination is the origin of aceh darussalam. Iskandar Muda alone
representing the two branches, which entitled completely to the throne. Known as the greatest
sultan in the time of the sultanate of aceh, reigned in 1607-1636.

Iskandar Muda aspire to legalize foreign colonization, including expelling portuguese from
Malacca.

Sultan : " In this time, our country is being colonized by the Portuguese nation, to liberate our.

Portuguese : " What do you guys? we are still here, colonizing the fertile and peaceful land of
Malacca

Sultan : " No. this is our country. We have the right to expel the occupiers. If that's what you

In 1629 Iskandar Muda launched an attack on malacca. In the face of this attack, Portuguese
was overwhelmed. The navy is reinforced with large ships that can carry 600-800 soldiers.
Horsemen equipped. The Portuguese must mobilize all the forces of army and weaponry to
confront the iskandar troops.

However, this attack did not succeed in expelling Portuguese from Malacca. Aceh relationship
with portuguese getting worse. Clashes between the two sides are still common. However,
neither portugis nor aceh is unbeatable. Only in 1641 Portuguese could be expelled from
malacca by the VOC.
