Good morning , today ,I am going to present my views on domestic tourism, the idea

of local people visiting tourist attractions of their own city or country.Picture the
scene.In the airport ,there are only a few airplanes .When the airplane landed ,only
about 20 passengers came out of it.While at the pier in Cheung Chau ,people can’t
even squeeze into the crowd.Everyone is trying hard to get on the ferry .This is no
rare scene.Domestic tourism has become a hit since the past couple of years .

To begin with ,let me explain why domestic tourism has become popular.Since the
past few years ,due to the pandemic ,many countries or city has locked down ,people
are restricted from entering or leaving it.They can no longer travel aboard so they
have no choice but to stay in their own countries.However, many travel agency saw
the business opportunities.They started the domestic tourism and it is gaining the
popularity among local people.It is mainly because people are too bored to stay at
home so they regard domestic tourism as a replacement of traditional tourism.More
than that,some travel agency also combined domestic tourism with eco-tourism.This
encourage more people who concern about environment joined this kind of tourism.

We all know that domestic tourism is becoming popular but what benefits can it
bring?During the pandemic,many travel agency and local shops had to close because
of the economic downturn.Local tourist has brought them a high revenue for them
and domestic tourism gave the chance to survive.Besides,staying at home for long is
not good for people’s physical and mental health.Domestic tourism allows them to
go out for a walk and relax .Domestic tourism which combined with eco-tourism can
even help them to escape from the concrete jungle and breathe some fresh air.This
kind of domestic tourism can also promote a sustainable lifestyle in the local tourists.

In this connection,Cheung Chau is one of the most popular tourist spot for local
tourists.In Cheung Chau ,they can taste some of the local food .Cheung Chau used to
be a fishing village so their seafood are well-known and every tourists will try
it.Also ,the geological features are attractive to the local tourists.Chung Chau was
actually two islands in many years ago but then the two island was connected by
sediments and sands .Many local tourists visit there and takes photo of it.Some of
the tourist also go to the gift shops to buy souvenirs for themselves or friends.

Domestic tourism’s enable us to travel under the pandemic and it brought a lot of
benefits.The travel agency should design more domestic tourism package to
encourage my people joining.Meanwhile the government should provide more
subsidies and support to this kind of tourism.
