1. Definition: The actions which happen regularly, repeat many


times or express habits, emotions, wishes, truths
2. Structure:
-Positive sentence: S+ be/ V+ (O)
-Negative sentence: S+ be/ do(es)+ not + V2
-Question sentence: Be/ do(es)+ S+V
3. Useage
3.1: The actions happen many times
EX: I often get up late on Sunday
3.2: To describe a truth
EX: My dad’s younger brother is uncle
3.3: The plans, programs,... are fixed time
EX: The train leaves at 9 a.m
3.4: To describe jobs:
EX: Huynh Loc is a English teacher
3.5: To describe places of origin:
EX: Banh Chung comes from Vietnam
3.6: To comment, judge
EX: She is a beautiful girl

EX: I really love reading English book

How to add s/es to verb:
. Most of verb will add “s” in the last
. except: verbs have the ending “o, ch, sh, z, x, ss, es”, we add
“es”. EX: wash- washes, watch- watches
Verbs have the ending “y”
+ if before “y” is a consonant, we change “y” -> ies
EX: fly- flies, cry- cries
+ if before “y” is a vowel, we just add “s”
EX: play- plays. Buy- buys
