1. Case introduction
Cha Dao village belongs to Badaling town of Yanqing county in Beijing city of China. It is
located at the foot of the Badaling Great Wall. It has been 450 years old. Granite and stone
pavement in the ancient city, Town God's Temple, Guan Yu Temple, ancient post, street shop,
inn, quadrangle and other cultural relics can be seen everywhere. Walking into the ancient fork
road, you can appreciate the local conditions and customs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Of
the 290 households in the village, 70% are engaged in tourism services.

"The most beautiful village in Beijing" in 2006. In March 2018, it was selected into the list of the
first batch of municipal traditional villages in Beijing.
2. Space syntax.
The syntax of space is based on the perception of the city as a network and applies a
mathematical graph model to it, with considerable attention to the graph nodes centrality
qualities.
Space syntax emphasizes the ontology of space, and points out that the growth of space
has a strong spontaneity, that is, the ability of self-organization. The formation of space is
not directly created by the requirements of specific activity patterns, but indirectly
created by the needs of different types of activities for people's movement and common
presence, and the patterns of people's movement and common presence are created by
space. In the process of the development of human society, people's social activities and
the characteristics of material space structure are interdependent.
In a word, the formation of space system and human behavior is an equal relationship,
which restricts and promotes each other. Space syntax, through the quantitative analysis
of the residential space structure of the whole settlement, architectural space and
landscape environment, with the help of relevant software, analyzes the relationship
between space form and human behavior, social culture in the space system with
objective and accurate description method, and obtains the deep structural
characteristics hidden behind the architectural surface form, so as to integrate
"architecture and city" The research of humanities is based on scientific accuracy and
description.

4. Conclusions
According to the analysis, it can be seen that the publicity of the whole village space is strong, but only the
main street of the village's central axis is the main path of villagers' public activities. The highest integration
value is also the main street in Chadao ancient city. The public activity center of Chadao village is also located
in the geometric center of the village, which shows the inward layout of public space. This also can be seen
that the residents in the north-south direction which are far away from the main street in the village lack space
for public communication.
The main reason for this is that all social activities are concentrated on the East-West Main Street, which is
the main axis of this area.In general, space syntax is a scientific and intuitive way to analyze urban space and
find deficiencies in the organization of urban space.
